SUMMARY:Calling out the Leadership B.S.: What the Evidence Actually Shows - Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Please note that creating a profile with the CCHL is required prior to registration for the webinar.\nMy name is Jaason Geerts and I am the Vice-President of Research and Leadership Development at the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL). I am also a co-investigator in a $450\,000 CIHR grant on nurse leadership\, which is based on a theoretical model I created. \nI’m writing with a personal invitation to a free\, evidence-based leadership webinar that may be of interest to your staff and members and aligns with nurses’ professional development mandate. \nThe webinar is titled Calling out the Leadership B.S.: What the Evidence Actually Shows and will take place on February 26 (12:00–1:00 p.m. ET). \nThe session examines common leadership myths that directly affect nurse leaders—who should lead\, what counts as credible evidence in leadership\, and diverse team performance—and contrasts them with what the peer-reviewed research actually shows. The intent is constructive and rigorous: to strengthen leadership practice and standards across the system\, particularly for nurses navigating increasingly complex leadership expectations. \nGiven your mandate to advance nursing influence\, credibility\, and evidence-informed practice\, this felt like a natural opportunity to share with members of your community should it be of interest—particularly nurse leaders and managers\, emerging leaders\, researchers\, educators\, and those involved in leadership development. \nFor you\, the session offers a non-commercial\, academically rigorous learning opportunity that you can share with confidence. In addition\, organizations that choose to share the webinar will be acknowledged as Institutional Contributors in the webinar materials\, the peer-reviewed publication\, and related knowledge-translation outputs. \nGiven that we are collecting data from event registrants for a peer-reviewed academic publication\, we are aiming for maximum engagement. The pre-survey is available in French and English. \n📅 February 26 | 12–1 p.m. ET \n🔗 Registration details: https://cchl-ccls.ca/event/fellowship-knowledge-translation-webinar-with-dr-jaason-geerts/ \nThere is absolutely no obligation to participate or promote—I simply wanted to ensure that you were aware of the opportunity. \nThank-you for your consideration and I look forward to potentially seeing you and your colleagues on the 26th! \nKind regards\, \nJaason \nDr. Jaason Geerts\, FCCHL(c)\, BA\, BEd (OISE)\, MTS (Toronto)\, MPhil and PhD (Cambridge) \n Vice-President\, Research and Leadership Development\, \nThe Canadian College of Health Leaders/ \nVice-Président\, Recherche et Développement du Leadership\, \nCollège canadien des leaders en santé \n
