XXII World Congress on Safety and Health at Work

September 19, 2021 - September 22, 2021

The XXII World Congress on Safety and Health at Work is a global forum for advancing worker health protection taking place every three years in a different country. Global thought leaders and experts from the international occupational safety and health community will be coming together in September 2021 to discuss Prevention in the Connected Age: Global Solutions to Achieve Safe and Healthy Work for All.

Over the past seven decades the World Congress has marked important developments in the world of work and in prevention. The XXII World Congress will continue this tradition and bring you thought leadership, knowledge and experience that reflects the realities of prevention in today’s world of work.

The theme for the XXII World Congress reflects the fact that today, the world is highly connected. This connectivity has been enabled and accelerated through mechanisms such as global supply chains and technology allowing for the rapid exchange of data, knowledge, processes and practices that create challenges and opportunities for protecting the safety and health of workers. While this theme continues to be relevant, we are now faced with a public health crisis that is changing the shape of our lives, and our work: COVID-19. And as we all adapt to this new and evolving reality, our plans for the XXII World Congress must also adapt.

We first made the decision to postpone to September 19-22, 2021. Now, we are exploring virtual options that will enhance the Congress programming we will be offering in Toronto, and which will allow the World Congress to become an even more global event. We are also examining our outreach, marketing, and programming to make sure they are relevant, and timely.
